Fisherman’s Cottage

9 Rue Bellevue, 66190 Collioure, Pyrénées-Orientales, Languedoc - Roussillon, France

“Drift to sleep listening to the sea, wake to gorgeous bustling markets, picnics on the beach and walks along the sweep of the bay

Writers, poets, singers and artists have all fallen under the spell of Collioure; you will too. Tucked away in the old quarter – blissfully car-free – is this three-storey, narrow (but with a decent, well-designed staircase) fisherman’s cottage.

Beautifully restored, it has pale painted beams in the sitting room, modern prints, soft creams and whites, and the odd stripe giving a jaunty nod to a nautical theme. And well it might! You can hear the sea from the bedroom, restful with its lovely linen and soft blues and greys; pop your head out of the window and you see the sweep of the bay. “
